Sprint HTC Evo One gets handled right before the official announcement, comes with red kickstand

Not only does the HTC Evo One continue the legacy of the original Evo by packing in a kickstand, but it’s red. You read that right: Sprint’s version of the HTC One X will come with a red kickstand. To make it stand out in the crowd a little, we assume.

The HTC Evo One will probably get announced by Sprint and HTC later today in New York City. And it got fondled by the folks over at Android Life less than 24 hours before that event. Obviously, some hands-on pictures were shot for your viewing pleasure.

While in looks the Evo One is closer to past Evo-branded devices sold by Sprint than the phone it’s derived from, it’s not that different to the One X on the inside. All the main specs are basically identical, with the Evo One expected to come with the dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 that AT&T’s One X will use too instead of Nvidia’s Tegra 3 quad-core, since the latter doesn’t support LTE. And we’re betting that the Evo One will be one of Sprint’s first LTE devices.

The Evo One still comes with a 4.7-inch HD touchscreen, an 8 MP camera, and it runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich with Sense UI 4. Stay tuned for the official details which will come out in a few hours.

This thing looks terrible. Way to mess up HTC’s design.
