Panasonic Eluga launched in the UK
Panasonic’s first smartphone made for Europe, the Eluga, has been released today in the UK – almost one week earlier than previously expected.
Expansys is currently the only British retailer that’s offering the Panasonic Eluga. Customers can buy the handset for £364.99 (€445), SIM-free. Expansys says it can deliver the device in less than 5 days. For now, only the silver version of the Eluga is available (the black one is still on pre-order, without an estimated release date attached).
The Eluga features a 4.3 inch qHD OLED display, 8MP rear camera, 1GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal memory, and a case that’s dust-proof and waterproof. The handset runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread, and will get Android 4.0 ICS eventually.
Another Panasonic Android smartphone that’s headed to the UK is the Eluga Power. This features a 5 inch HD display, and will run Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich from day one. It’s supposed to be released before the end of the month for £478.80.
