Nokia Lumia 610 arrives in the UK next week, in black and cyan

The Nokia Lumia 610, the Finnish company’s cheapest Windows Phone yet, is about to become available in the UK in SIM-free and unlocked form. Late next week is when Clove expects to start shipping the first pre-orders for the Lumia 610.

The well known British retailer lets you pre-order the newest Nokia in either cyan or black. The price has been finalized as well, and is now all-official. £180, VAT included – that’s how much you need to pay for this Windows Phone.

That’s cheap for a device powered by Microsoft’s newest mobile operating system, but it’s unclear how well the Lumia 610 will do, sales-wise. After all, it’s in the same price range as the HTC Desire C, announced earlier today, and which packs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich into an affordable shell. With Google’s OS being constantly on the rise, and with many people now perceiving that getting a smartphone requires a choice between (just) Android and iOS, it will probably be rather tough for the Lumia 610 to break any sales records. But we’ll see in a short while.
