Nokia 808 PureView delayed in the UK until mid-late July?
The Nokia 808 PureView may have been delayed in the UK. According to the relevant page up on retailer Clove‘s website, the first PureView phone is now slated to arrive only in mid-to-late July. That’s also what the aforementioned company told one of its customers who pre-ordered a Nokia 808 PureView. Said customer sent the email he received from Clove to MyNokiaBlog.
The gist of it is this: the phone is indeed delayed until July. There is, however, a big caveat here. So we’re not sure the delay applies to the entire UK market, or just to that one specific retailer. It may just be that Nokia will manage to launch the 808 with an operator or two, or even through some kind of time-based exclusive deal with another retailer (as it has done in the past with both Carphone Warehouse and Phones 4U) before mid-July.
Or maybe the Finnish company is so busy tweaking the 808′s camera that it really won’t ship any units until later this summer. All of these are plausible hypotheses, so until we find out more, hold tight. Though it has to be said, if you were anxiously waiting for what is the best cameraphone ever made, things aren’t looking too bright at the moment. You may just need to be patient for a couple more months. We’ll keep you posted.
