LG’s Optimus Vu, Optimus LTE, and Optimus LTE Tag to receive ICS updates starting on June 4
Three LG Android smartphones will finally start receiving their respective doses of Ice Cream Sandwich starting next week.
June 4 is the important date you should keep in mind if you own an LG Optimus Vu, Optimus LTE, or Optimus LTE Tag.
The updates’ rollouts could of course take a while, so if you’re impatient we recommend manually checking if they’re available (after next Monday, naturally).
Aside from the usual Android 4.0-related bits and blobs, these updates will also deliver an upgraded LG UI overlay, as well as some device-specific new things. For example, something called ‘kwikmemo’ (or perhaps it should be QuickMemo and Google Translate has failed us) should be in, as well as a feature which will let the Optimus Vu run two apps side-by-side.
Of course LG brags about how excellent its Android 4.0 UI overlay is… but you’ll have to try it and make up your own mind about it.
