AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update finally available

Well, the wait is finally over if you have a Samsung Galaxy S II purchased from AT&T. The update to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich is now available to grab and install.

However, it’s not as easy a procedure as could be. The update isn’t over-the-air, so you’ll need a computer to download and install it, using Samsung’s Kies desktop software (which you can get from here).

After updating, your Galaxy S II will be running Android 4.0.3. So go and install it. And be happy. After all, it’s only been what, 8 months or so since ICS was first unveiled?

    Vlad- You failed to mention that one will need to have Samsung Kies Air PC version 2.3.2.12054 (as of today 6/21/2012) installed in order for update to be carried out, Most of us are in the dark about this because we are thinking that because we have the Samsung Kies Air (AT&T bloatware) pre-installed on our phones, all we have to is connect to our PC’s using the app on our phones. Samsung has equipped the phone app only as a means for viewing and sharing to PC but not providing capability to physically update to Ice cream sandwich update from app.( i think they like to confuse us on purpose with this whole ICS tease they have demonstrated with no published explanation as to delay….and now this. Like a dog waiting for a bone)
