The IP67-certified Sony Xperia Go has, according to the company that makes it, the highest level of dust and water resistance you can find in a smartphone. It was announced last month, and you can already pre-order one if you live in the UK.
We’ve previously heard that it would be out over there in July, and so it will be. At the very start of the month, no less.
The Xperia Go can be pre-ordered from Unlocked Mobiles for £219.97. The retailer says it will start shipping these pre-orders out on July 2, which is this coming Monday.
If you’d rather get your gear from Clove, another well known UK-based phone seller, you’ll need to shell out £224.99 for the privilege. Also do keep in mind that in this case we don’t have an actual release date, but the company assures us it will be sometime next week when the Xperia Go units will start arriving at their customers’ doorsteps.
Aside from its ruggedness, which will undoubtedly prove to be its main selling point over time, the Sony Xperia Go also comes with a dual-core 1 GHz processor, a 5 MP rear camera, 512 MB of RAM, 8 GB of built-in storage space, microSD card support, HSPA, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, DLNA, and a 1,305 mAh battery. It runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread.
