Huawei’s Emotion UI for Android 4.0 ICS goes live
Huawei first talked about its new Emotion UI back in May, and now the UI is ready for primetime.
Huawei has put up an official website (in Chinese) for the Emotion UI. The new skin works on Android 4.0 ICS devices, and for now it looks like only the Huawei Honor, Huawei Ascend P1, and Huawei Ascend P1E are supported. The Ascend D Quad flagship will most probably also be included here after it gets launched.
An important detail: the new skin is exclusively addressed to Chinese users – at least for now.
Emotion is described by Huawei as being powerful, easy to use, and easy to enjoy. Its features include:
- Voice Assistant (Chinese only)
- unique and customizable homescreens and animations
- access to Huawei’s cloud service
- customizable Chinese characters
- “intelligent contact finder”
- a comprehensive help system that “allows entry-level users to get started”
Those who want to get the Emotion UI can download it here (although it looks like the download links don’t work at this very moment).
