Sony Xperia Ion and LG Optimus L5 coming to Canada really soon
We already told you that the Sony Xperia Ion was headed to Canada. It hasn’t been released there yet, but it looks like it won’t be long until it happens, as accessories for the handset have been spotted in Rogers stores recently.
At the end of June, AT&T launched the Xperia Ion in the US with Android 2.3 Gingerbread on board. Fortunately for Canadian users, Rogers’ version will run Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich from day one. There’s no word on how much the new LTE-capable smartphone will cost, but it could be $99.99 with a new 3-yr contract agreement.
Another Android smartphone that’s coming to Canada is the LG Optimus L5. According to Mobile Syrup, this will be released by both Bell and Virgin Mobile on July 13 – hence this Friday. It should cost no more than $300 off-contract, coming with Android 4. ICS, a 4 inch HVGA display, 512MB of RAM, 800MHz processor, and a 5MP rear camera.
