Android 4.0 ICS update for Samsung Galaxy R / Z i9103 rolling out now?
The Samsung Galaxy i9103 was released back in 2011 under two names: Galaxy R, and Galaxy Z. It was running Android 2.3 Gingerbread at launch, and now it looks like it’s finally getting Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
A Galaxy i9103 users in Sweden has recently sent the phone to service, and when he got it back it was running 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich. This, of course, means that other users should start receiving the update sometime soon.
Meanwhile, if you don’t want to wait for the official ICS update, and know how to install a ROM on your i9103, you can get all the details here at XDA.
The Galaxy R / Z features a 4.2 inch WVGA display, 1GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, and 2GB of ROM. So it might even get Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. But we’ll see about that.
