Nokia Phi and Nokia Arrow rumored to be announced on September 5, WP8 in tow

Nokia’s apparently going to unveil two Windows Phone 8 devices during its September 5 joint event with Microsoft. These are codenamed Phi and Arrow. Obviously, when they’ll get released they’ll both be called Lumia something. The Phi is the high-end offering, which we’ve already seen get leaked at the beginning of this month.

The Nokia Phi will sport a design that’s quite similar to the Lumia 900 and Lumia 800, and it will be launched in the US by AT&T. The carrier will give it a similar status to the one the Lumia 900 has had – more or less a ‘hero’ device. The Nokia Phi will have a curved glass display, and a polycarbonate body.

The Arrow will be a midrange offering (this one, perhaps?), which will be released by both AT&T and T-Mobile. There will be an almost identical version of this device, codenamed Atlas, on Verizon too. However, just as we told you before, that will come a bit later (though should still be this year).

So the WP8 launch will be similar to what Nokia has done in the US at the beginning of the year, with one important difference: Verizon’s involvement. Other than that, there’s going to be a flagship device on AT&T, and a midranger on T-Mobile. Just like today with the Lumia 900 and Lumia 710.

Less than two weeks to go until the press conference, folks.
