Asus Transformer Pad TF300TG and PadFone launched in India. Google Nexus 7 to be released there in November
By Florin on 19 Sep 12Asus has launched two Android devices in India: the PadFone, and the Transformer Pad TF300TG (also known as Transformer Pad 300).
The PadFone, which comprises of a smartphone and a tablet dock, costs 64,999 INR (about $1,205) – and, at this price, I don’t think it will sell very well. In any case, the smartphone runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, featuring a 4.3 inch qHD display, 8MP rear camera, 1GB of RAM, 32GB of internal memory, and a 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor. The tablet dock sports a 10.1 inch display with 1280 x 800 pixels, and a 6600 mAh battery.
The Transformer Pad TF300TG also runs Android 4.0 ICS (with an update to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean coming at some point), and costs 43,999 INR (about $816). It features a 10.1 inch, 1280 x 800 pixels display, 3G, Wi-Fi, 8MP rear camera, quad-core Nvidia Tegra 3 processor, 1GB of RAM, 32GB of internal memory, and a keyboard dock.
Another Asus-made tablet that’s going to be released in India soon is the Google Nexus 7. According to AndroidOS.in, the Nexus 7 will debut there in November. There’s no word on how much Google’s tablet will cost in India, but its price should match the one for the US market ($199).
