LG Optimus Vu II launches in Korea, tries to compete with Samsung’s Galaxy Note II
By Florin on 27 Sep 12LG has finally unveiled its new Optimus Vu II handset, after teasing us with info about it in a press release last month.
The Vu II will try to stand next to the Samsung Galaxy Note II in the phablet market (if that’s a market at all), and is obviously the successor to the first Optimus Vu – which isn’t that old, since it only recently became available in some countries (like the US, where Verizon is selling it as the LG Intuition).
Running Android 4.0 ICS (hopefully upgradeable to Jelly Bean), the Optimus Vu sports the same 5 inch, 1024 x 768 pixels display as its predecessor. Enhanced features include a new 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon MSM8960 processor, 2GB of RAM, Rubberdium Pen 2.0, VoLTE, and MicroSD card support. As previously reported, the Vu II comes with a new infrared remote control system called QRemote – enabling users to control various devices in their house.
LG is selling the Optimus Vu II in South Korea for 966,900 KRW (about $866). The company didn’t say when (or if) it plans to introduce the handset in other markets.
