AT&T’s LTE-capable Sony Xperia T gets official as the Xperia TL, the James Bond phone
AT&T has just announced what looks like its very own version of the Sony Xperia T, complete with LTE support and a new name: Xperia TL.
The Xperia T was unveiled by Sony at the end of August, and throughout last month we’ve seen many clues that it would be headed to AT&T. And now it’s official.

The Android-powered smartphone comes with a 4.6-inch 720p HD touchscreen, a 13 MP rear camera with 1080p Full HD video recording, a 720p HD front-facing camera, a 1.5 GHz dual-core processor, and it runs Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich. An update to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean should arrive at some point after the device hits the streets.
So, as mentioned before, the Xperia TL looks like it’s just an Xperia T with LTE and AT&T branding. That hasn’t stopped the carrier from boasting that the TL will be used by James Bond in the upcoming Skyfall movie, trying to capitalize on the attention that particular franchise is getting (and it wouldn’t be the first company to do so).
Unfortunately, AT&T hasn’t said anything about pricing or a release time frame for the Xperia TL with this initial announcement. So we expect there will be another press release closer to whenever the phone will launch, containing these missing details. In the meantime, let’s get ready for the related leaks to start pouring in.
