Verizon Motorola Droid RAZR HD screen protectors arrive in stores, may mean launch is imminent

Exactly one month ago, Motorola announced the Droid RAZR HD and Droid RAZR MAXX HD for Verizon. However, we still don’t know when these devices will be in stores.

So we’re analyzing every clue there is. And it seems that the launch may be very near, as screen protectors for the Droid RAZR HD have started showing up in Verizon stores. Obviously, no one’s going to buy a screen protector for a phone that isn’t out, so this hopefully means that we’ll see the new RAZRs (or at least the RAZR HD) hit the shelves in a few weeks tops.

Droid Life has heard that third party Big Red stores are expecting October 18 to be the big date. That hasn’t been confirmed yet (not even by another rumor), so we’ll have to wait and see. Anyway, it looks like the phones haven’t been delayed after all, at least not significantly. That’s certainly good news if you were looking to buy one of these.

They better release it soon because it’s almost out dated as is already. Thinking I may just wait till next years cpu tech at this point.

Imagine how many sales they are losing with people who have been waiting that ended up choosing an S3 or iPhone 5.

Are screen protectors, or any other accessory, a good clue to a release date or delay? If I’m an accessory maker, I want to ship the products on time, regardless of a phone’s launch status. I’ve already spent money to make the products, and get paid on shipping them. Also avoids any potential contract or legal issues that could arise, and keeps my inventory levels down. And a store could put the accessory out for sale now, banking on a few suckers buying early, to start recouping their costs.
