Nokia Lumia 820 now up for pre-order in the UK, free from £29 per month, £379.95 SIM-free

The Nokia Lumia 820 is now up for pre-order in the UK, both SIM-free as well as with monthly contracts from O2, Orange, and Vodafone.

The Carphone Warehouse is offering Nokia’s midrange Windows Phone 8 device for free with plans starting at £29 per month. For that amount of cash, you can choose either O2’s variant which brings you 600 anytime any network minutes, unlimited texts, and 100 MB of data, or Vodafone’s option, which has 300 minutes, unlimited texts, and 250 MB of data. There are, of course, even more contracts to choose from if you’re interested.

On the other hand, you could just get the handset in SIM-free form so you won’t have to fiddle with any long-term contracts. In that case, you’ll need to shell out £379.95 for the device.

Regardless of what your particular cuppa is regarding contracts or SIM-free phones, if you pre-order the Lumia 820 at The Carphone Warehouse, you’ll get a free wireless charging plate (a £44.99 value).

This particular retailer doesn’t list any shipping date for the smartphone, but Clove does. You can also pre-order the Lumia 820 at Clove, for £399.98, and shipping is set to start on November 8 or November 9. So by next weekend you might get your very own Lumia 820 in your hands.
