Motorola Razr HD becomes Mexico’s first 4G smartphone thanks to Telcel
Several weeks after Verizon launched it in the US (as the Droid Razr HD), the Motorola Razr HD has been released in Mexico, too, via Telcel – the country’s largest mobile carrier (serving more than 65 million customers). This is newsworthy because the Razr HD is Mexico’s first 4G LTE-capable smartphone.
Until November 21, as part of an exclusive launching promotion, Telcel is offering the Razr HD for free with its Telcel 1000 Plus Plan (2-yr contract required).
Like Verizon’s Droid Razr HD, Telcel’s Motorola Razr HD runs Android Ice Cream Sandwich (upgradeable to Jelly Bean), and features a 4.7 inch Super AMOLED display with 1280 x 720 pixels, NFC, 8MP rear camera, 1.3MP front-facing camera, 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal memory, and Kevlar fiber on the back.
The Motorola Razr HD is the second new Razr introduced in Mexico, after the Intel-powered Razr i, available there as of last month.
