[UPDATE: Error] Is there a white Nexus 4 on its way to Carphone Warehouse?
This may be nothing but an error. A simple mistake. Keep that in mind.
Then again, a white LG Nexus 4 may be in the works. And headed to the UK market via the Carphone Warehouse, the country’s biggest third-party phone retailer.
On the Nexus 4’s dedicated page over at the Carphone Warehouse, color options are available. There’s black, which is obvious, since so far it’s been the only color we knew the Nexus 4 would come in. But then there’s also white, which you can select (see the bottom left corner of the image below).
If you do select white, the image of the black handset simply disappears and isn’t replaced with anything. So no, we don’t get to imagine what a white Nexus 4 would look like. Not yet, at least.
If this isn’t just a mishap on the part of whoever’s responsible for that page at the Carphone Warehouse, this is the first ever mention of a white Nexus 4. The Carphone Warehouse isn’t a stranger when it comes to selling exclusive colors for certain phones, so the white Nexus 4 may turn out to be exclusive to this retailer (at least for the UK). That would certainly explain why we haven’t heard anything about this color variation yet.
The Carphone Warehouse is selling the Nexus 4 with contracts from O2, Vodafone, and Three. The device is free with plans starting at £31 per month, both for updates as well as new agreements. This retailer isn’t offering the Nexus 4 in SIM-free and unlocked form. But the Play Store gladly caters to those needs, as you may already know.
[UPDATE] It seems like it was just a mistake after all. Carphone Warehouse has since changed its Nexus 4 page, and now the white color is gone.
