ZTE Avid 4G for MetroPCS and ZTE Grand X Pro see their press shots leaked
The Grand X, Grand X LTE T82, and Grand X IN apparently weren’t enough for ZTE. Not enough to leave the ‘Grand X’ series alone. No, the Chinese company has another one of these in the works: the Grand X Pro. A press shot depicting this handset has been leaked. By the looks of things, the ZTE Grand X Pro will be an entirely different device compared to the other members of the Grand X series.
As you can see, there’s an ‘edge-to-edge’ screen to be found here, akin to what’s in the Motorola Droid RAZR M and Droid RAZR i. The Grand X Pro runs at least Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, and will come with software-rendered on-screen Android buttons.
Unfortunately we don’t know anything else about this smartphone just yet. It certainly looks like it could be ZTE’s next flagship device, with a big screen and narrow bezel.
Also mysterious is the ZTE Avid 4G, which got its press shot leaked too. Well, at least we know where this end up: MetroPCS (as is obvious from the big logo on its front fascia). The screen looks like it’s definitely smaller than that of the Grand X Pro, and in fact the whole design of the Avid screams ‘low-end’. Well, midrange maybe. Tops. This is the kind of device that ZTE has been known for so far: affordable. Contrast that to the Grand X Pro, which seems to have some higher ambitions.
The ZTE Avid 4G will also run at least Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (the new launcher is there), but, once again, that’s all we know right now. Stay tuned for more.
