ZTE’s Nubia Z5 1080p Android phone appears again
By Florin on 07 Dec 12Spotted last month in an image that showed its display compared to the screens of Samsung Galaxy S III and iPhone 5, the ZTE Nubia Z5 has appeared in a proper photo today.
Included in a post on Weibo (in Chinese), the photo shows a white version of the Nubia Z5, allowing us to see the device has a large speaker on the front. As previously mentioned, the Z5 sports a 5 inch display with 1920 x 1080 pixels, and probably runs Android Jelly Bean. Other features should include a 1.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor, 2GB of RAM, 13MP rear camera, and a 7.6mm thin case.
ZTE could officially launch the Nubia Z5 in China before the end of December. It remains to be seen if the company will try to introduce the handset in the US, too, like Oppo is doing with its Find 5 phablet.
Sharp and HTC have already released 1080p smartphones: the Aquos SH930W, and the Droid DNA (known internationally as HTC Butterfly). Needless to say, other companies are also preparing handsets with 1080p screens: Samsung (Galaxy S4), LG (Optimus G2 and E940 for AT&T), and Sony (C6603 Yuga). But all these will be released only next year.
