AT&T’s Motorola Atrix HD gets its taste of Jelly Bean today
Sprint’s HTC Evo 4G LTE isn’t the only device that has been blessed with a new version of Android today. AT&T’s Motorola Atrix HD has joined in, and right in time it did – last week we told you that this rollout would happen sometime in December. And here we are, not halfway through the month yet, and the update is going out. That’s a great holiday present for owners of the Atrix HD, isn’t it?
The rollout will happen over-the-air, so expect your phone to pop up a notification about the update any second now. When it does, you can download and install it right away. If you’re impatient, you can always try to get the update faster by going to Settings > About Phone > Software Updates on your Atrix HD and tapping on Check Now.
After applying the update, your device will run Android 4.1 Jelly Bean (but you weren’t expecting it to be 4.2 this soon, were you?). Aside from all the awesome things that this version of Android brings to the table, the update also contains some stuff specific to the Atrix HD: quick settings toggled by swiping from the home screen (for example, a swipe to the left can toggle Wi-Fi), there’s a new ‘filmstrip’ mode in the Gallery, and the Drive Smart feature which makes it safer to stay connected while driving. The full feature list can be found here at AT&T.
