Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1, Tab 2 7.0 and Tab 2 10.1 red editions prepared for 2013?
It’s not uncommon for Samsung to release its smartphones in many color versions, but the same can’t be said about the company’s tablets, which all have a maximum of two color options (usually black and white). Still, it looks like a few of Sammy’s tablets will come in a third color version soon.
The new color is called garnet red, and is similar to that available for the Samsung Galaxy S III.
SamMobile is reporting that the following tablets will be launched in red starting early 2013: Galaxy Note 10.1 3G (GT-N8000), Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 3G (GT-P5100), and Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 3G (GT-P3100). The Wi-Fi only editions of the tablets won’t get the new colors.
It’s said that the three newly-colored devices will hit the shelves before February 14 (Valentine’s Day). It isn’t clear which markets will get them, but Europe is probably a safe bet.
The Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 , Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 and Galaxy Note 10.1 were all launched earlier this year running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Of course, in the meantime Samsung has started pushing Android 4.1 Jelly Bean updates to them.
Most likely, when the red tablets are released, they’ll run Android Jelly Bean out of the box. Maybe they’ll even come with the latest version of JB (Android 4.2) – but that’s just wishful thinking.
