Samsung Galaxy S IV rumored to come with S Pen stylus, launching in April

The unlikely rumor of the day claims that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S IV will come with an S Pen stylus, just like the Galaxy Note tablet and phablets. Apparently, this is because Samsung is looking to ‘unify’ its S and Note series of devices in the future. Allegedly, a Samsung official has confirmed this line of thinking.

What this means is that the Galaxy Notes won’t have the differentiating factor of the bundled stylus and accompanying software anymore. That may make some sense since the Galaxy S IV is rumored to sport a 5-inch touchscreen, which is almost as big as the original Galaxy Note’s from 2011. So if the Korean company feels that a huge screen is needed for stylus use, then the Galaxy S IV may get a stylus after all.

This could help Samsung’s next flagship smartphone differentiate itself from the myriad of 5-inch competitors that are in the works as you read this.

Other rumored specs for the Galaxy S IV once again include a 5″ 1080p Full HD AMOLED touchscreen, and a quad-core Samsung Exynos 5440 processor made using 28 nm High-K Metal Gate tech. Or, Samsung may even opt to use ARM’s big.LITTLE architecture, pairing a low-power Cortex-A7 CPU for basic tasks with a Cortex-A15 unit for more intensive things.

The Samsung Galaxy S IV will apparently come with a 13 MP camera, as well as 9.2 mm thickness, which is a bit more than its predecessor. It could launch in April running some version of Android Jelly Bean (let’s hope it will be 4.2).

5″ screen is nothing, give me a Note III with a 6.3″ screen.
