Sony Xperia Z already previewed, could be launched in Europe in February
While it might not become available in the UK before March, the new Sony Xperia Z could be released in other European markets as soon as next month (February).
An authorized Sony retailer in Poland is taking pre-orders for the smartphone as of now, saying it’s expecting to ship it starting February 18. The retailer is asking 2,799 PLN (about €686 or $896) for an unlocked Xperia Z – we’ve seen about the same price listed in the UK.
Assuming the handset will be indeed available in Poland in February, there’s a good chance it’s going to be out in more countries before the end of the month.
In case you didn’t know, the Xperia Z has three colors versions – black, white and purple – and the folks over at Mobile-review have managed to get their hands on all of them. They’ve posted a lengthy preview of the new smartphone here, concluding that they really like it, as it’s offering anything you’d need from a high-end device.
The Xperia Z is among the few high-end smartphones out there that are waterproof and dustproof. It is Sony’s first handset to feature a Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) display. It runs Android Jelly Bean, and comes with a quad-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 2GB of RAM, LTE, NFC, 2MP front-facing camera, 13MP rear camera, 16GB of internal memory, and MicroSD card support – all in a 7.9mm thin case.
