The Nokia Lumia 610 was announced almost one year ago, during Mobile World Congress 2012. It’s been on sale in the UK (and across the world) for many months now, but at no point in its history has it been this cheap.
Caveats first: we’re talking refurbished units here, and this offer only applies if you have nothing against getting a Pay as you go deal from O2.
With that out of the way, you should know that you can now buy a Nokia Lumia 610 for the incredibly low price of £79.99. That’s less than half of what it was going for back when it arrived in the UK last year, and it’s one of the best deals (strictly in terms of pricing) that we’ve ever seen for a Windows Phone in the UK.
The Lumia 610 is anything but a flagship device, though. Obviously it’s a low-end offering, but at this price you can’t really expect anything else. It runs Windows Phone 7.5, so it will never be updated to WP8, but an update to Windows Phone 7.8 should hit it in the very near future. That update will bring with it some of the user-facing features in WP8. True, you’re probably not going to get any new features at all after that, but for someone who’s new to smartphones, or as a second or third device this is a pretty interesting offering.
O2 says its refurbished units are ‘good as new’, and you get three-month warranty, so unless you’re morally opposed to refurbs, all should be fine from that point of view.
If you’re interested in grabbing a cheap Lumia 610 now, head over to O2′s online store.
