LG VS870 shows up, possibly Verizon’s Escape
Back in September of last year, AT&T launched the LG Escape – a midrange Android smartphone with the model number P870.
Now an LG VS870 has been spotted doing its thing over at the FCC and WPC. VS is what LG’s Verizon models usually start with, and the VS870 is carrying all the necessary bands and connectivity for it to be headed to Big Red indeed.
Verizon’s version of the LG Escape (which will undoubtedly be launched under a different name) should be the successor to the LG Lucid which arrived on the market last Spring. Since it went through the WPC, it’s pretty clear that it will feature wireless charging support alongside the now-standard LTE connectivity in all of Verizon’s new smartphones.
Other things may have been changed too compared to AT&T’s variant, but we can’t be sure just yet. Hopefully it will get to keep the decently sized (considering its other specs) 2,100 mAh battery. We’ll let you know when we find out more.
AT&T’s LG Escape comes with a 4.3-inch 540×960 IPS touchscreen, a dual-core 1.2 GHz processor, a 5 MP rear camera, a 1.3 MP front-facing camera, NFC, and it runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
