MetroPCS LG Spirit 4G launches with 4.5″ screen, $199 price sans contract
MetroPCS has added a new Android-powered smartphone to its ever-growing roster today, the LG Spirit 4G. This device brings a 4.5-inch touchscreen to the masses, so to speak – because it’s very affordable. It also comes with LTE support built-in, like all the carrier’s recent launches.
The Spirit 4G’s screen has an unknown resolution (though in this price segment you definitely shouldn’t expect it to be HD), and the phone also has a dual-core 1.2 GHz processor, a 5 MP rear camera with LED flash and 1080p Full HD video recording support, a 1.3 MP front-facing camera, 4 GB of built-in storage space expandable via microSD card, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and a 2,150 mAh battery. It runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, disappointingly, but not unexpectedly considering that it’s made by LG.
Rather surprising is the fact that the Spirit 4G is already available to order from MetroPCS online. For a limited time, it is being sold for $199 (after a $70 mail-in rebate). The normal price is $269. And you will not need to sign any contract with the carrier to benefit from this pricing.
You can pair the LG Spirit 4G with the unlimited 4G LTE plan that MetroPCS is offering for $60 per month, and featuring all you can eat talk, text, and data. Or go for the cheapest LTE plan that’s $40 per month but isn’t unlimited.
