Samsung Galaxy Note N7000 Android Jelly Bean update starts rolling out

Not long after it reconfirmed it was bringing Android Jelly Bean to the original Galaxy Note GT-N7000, today Samsung has started rolling-out the update (which blesses the device with Android 4.1.2).

For the moment, it looks like only Note N7000 users in Hong Kong and Taiwan are getting Jelly Bean. The update can be done either over the air, or through Samsung Kies. Users in other markets will probably receive the new version of the OS pretty soon, too.

Besides the enhancements included in the standard version of Android 4.1.2, the update also brings Samsung’s latest Nature UX to the original Note, as well as some features that the new Note II already has (like Multi-window multitasking).

Samsung should launch new Note devices later this year, including the Galaxy Note 8.0 (which might debut next week at MWC 2013), and the Galaxy Note III (which could feature a 6.3 inch Full HD display). These will likely run Android 4.2 Jelly Bean out of the box.

“Users in other markets will probably receive the new version of the OS pretty soon, too.”
I don’t understand how they can start rolling out the update in parts of the world and not tell other users when it’s their turn? Do they now know? Have they no plan? Or do they think we’re stupid and don’t need to be told? What ‘journalist’ write these things without getting to this basic info, such as “when will this be rolled out in the US, in Europe and elsewhere?”. We were told six months ago we’d get the update ‘pretty soon’.
