Asus announces pricing and availability in the UK for the MeMO Pad tablets
Although it had a full day yesterday, what with the launch of the PadFone Infinity and the FonePad, Asus somehow managed to find time for other things as well. For example, announcing the pricing and availability information for the MeMO Pad tablets in the UK.
We’re talking about the 7-inch MeMO Pad that was announced in January, as well as the 10.1-inch MeMO Pad that hasn’t gotten a proper unveiling so far, yet has had its specs and press images leaked at the beginning of this month.
Let’s start with the latter then. The bigger MeMO Pad comes with a 10.1-inch 1,280×800 IPS touchscreen, a quad-core Nvidia Tegra 3 processor, 16 GB of built-in storage, an SD card slot for expansion, a 5 MP rear camera, a 1.2 MP front camera, and 8.5 hour battery life according to Asus itself. It runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. It’s 9.9 mm thick and weighs 580 grams.
This MeMO pad should already be available to pre-order online from Currys, PCWorld, Tesco, and Amazon UK. The recommended sales price is £249. It will be out only in Midnight Blue at first. Expect to see it in stores starting on March 7.
The smaller MeMO Pad has a 7-inch 1,024×600 touchscreen, a 1 GHz Via CPU, 16 GB of built-in storage, a microSD card slot, and it runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean too. It’s 11.2 mm thick, will only be available in Titanium Grey, and it comes with a “non-slip diamond-patterned finish”.
The MeMO Pad 7 will be out in stores and online in mid-April for a recommended price of £129.
