iPhone 5S coming in August, new iPads in April?
With all the Galaxy S IV related stuff you may have heard over the past few days, who knows, maybe you’ve been craving a fresh iPhone or iPad rumor. If that’s the case, this will certainly make you happy, since it’s a combined iPhone / iPad rumor.
It comes from iMore, home of some reliable information in the past, so while you shouldn’t completely ignore it, you obviously should handle it with some caution. All ‘leaks’ and rumors can turn out to be false.
The iPhone 5S is coming this year. In August even. We’re not talking announcement here, but actual release in stores. So the official unveiling event could be in August too, or it could be held as soon as July. And, like all ‘S’ versions of Apple’s smartphone, the 5S will look the same as its predecessor, coming with the same dimensions, but will have some new hardware inside (and, we hope, a much refreshed version of iOS, though this rumor doesn’t talk about software at all). The processor will be new and improved, and the camera will be better than Apple’s past efforts in that space.
What about new iPads then? Well, apparently the iPad 5 and iPad Mini 2 may arrive in April. This isn’t set in stone just yet, but is allegedly a serious possibility. If so, it looks like Apple will stick to an insane twice-a-year schedule for putting out new tablets, and the events from last year were no one-off thing. It remains to be seen how happy Apple fans will be with this new upgrade cycle. Last time around, there were some criticisms of Apple for the short window between the iPad 3 and iPad 4 releases, but sales were good regardless.
