New Samsung Galaxy Pocket Neo in the making (including a dual SIM version)

Samsung is reportedly getting ready to introduce a new low-end Android smartphone, called Galaxy Pocket Neo. This will be Samsung’s second Galaxy Pocket this year, after the 2.8 inch Pocket Plus (which hasn’t been announced yet).

Like other Samsung handsets before it – including the Galaxy Fame and Galaxy Young – the Galaxy Pocket Neo will have a single SIM version (model number GT-S5310), and a dual SIM version (model number GT-S5312).

According to Sam Mobile, the Pocket Neo sports a 3 inch QVGA display, coming with 3G connectivity, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, A-GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, 2MP rear camera, and a case that measures 104.95 x 57.8 x11.8 mm.

It’s said that the Galaxy Pocket Neo will be launched starting May. It remains to be seen in what markets, and for what price. There is no image of the handset available at the moment.

Another new entry-level Samsung smartphone that’s coming soon is the Galaxy Star GT-S5282. This should also feature a 3 inch QVGA display, and a 2MP camera, while running Android Jelly Bean. It’s not clear how the Galaxy Pocket Neo will differentiate itself from the Galaxy Star, but we’re probably going to find out soon.

Samsung introduced its first Galaxy Pocket smartphone (S5300) last year – the handset runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread, and won’t be updated to newer versions of the OS.
