Samsung Galaxy Fame launched in Europe, costs less than €200
While media attention is currently focused on the Galaxy S4 (which will be unveiled tomorrow, March 14), there are still other new Samsung Galaxy smartphones out there. Take the Galaxy Fame for example – officially announced in early February, at the same time with the Galaxy Young.
The Fame is now available in Europe – at least in Germany and Romania.
Amazon Germany is selling the Galaxy Fame for prices starting at €196,60 (about $255).
In Romania, the handset is considerably cheaper: eMag is asking 719 RON for it (€164, or $214).
Note that we’re taking about the Galaxy Fame S6810, so this is not the dual SIM version of the device, and neither the NFC-ready one (S6810P).
Running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean with TouchWiz Motion UI, the Samsung Galaxy Fame features: a 3.5 inch display with 480 x 320 pixels (HVGA), Wi-Fi Direct, HSPA, Bluetooth 4.0, A-GPS, Samsung Hub, Samsung S Cloud, VGA front-facing camera, 5MP rear camera with LED flash, 512MB of RAM, 1GHz single-core processor, 4GB of internal memory, MicroSD card support, and a 1,300 mAh battery.
The Fame will be released in other European markets soon – including the UK, where Three seems to be the first network that’s going to offer it (most likely for free on select plans).
