Samsung Galaxy Star and Galaxy Pocket Neo introduced in Africa

The Samsung Galaxy Star and the Galaxy Pocket Neo have become official in Africa. These made appearances at the Samsung Forum in South Africa. Since the Korean company has yet to put out a press release of the announcement, details are pretty thin, and the hands-on images below are all we have at the moment.

The Samsung Galaxy Star (seen below) has EDGE connectivity only, a 3-inch 240×320 touchscreen, a 2 MP camera, dual-SIM support, and 4 GB of built-in storage space. It runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Other specs that have been rumored so far include a microSD card slot, support for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, and GPS, and a 1,200 mAh battery.

The Samsung Galaxy Pocket Neo (pictured in the image below this paragraph) comes with an 850 MHz processor, 512 MB of RAM, once again a 3-inch 240×320 touchscreen, dual-SIM support, a 2 MP camera, 4 GB of internal storage, and 7.2 Mbps HSDPA. It should also sport Wi-Fi, GPS, and Bluetooth 4.0 according to past rumors. This model runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean just like the Galaxy Star, and it certainly seems that the only difference between the two is the 3G connectivity inside the Pocket Neo.

Unfortunately there is no information right now about pricing or availability for these devices, but they should obviously be extremely cheap, having those specs. We’ll let you know when we find out more about the Samsung Galaxy Star and the Galaxy Pocket Neo.
