Water, shock proof Motorola X Phone comes in November with sapphire glass display, 2GHz Snapdragon 800 CPU
This time it comes PhoneArena, who were tipped-off that Google’s MotoX handset will be dust and water proof, have 4.8” sapphire glass display, 2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 CPU, 4000mAh battery, rubber bumper corners to absorb the shock when dropped, and a carbon fiber back.
Which , if this tip is not just someone’s fantasy, sounds like an extremely cool device. And not because of that Qualcomm CPU. Because of everything else.
At this point in time I do not care much about another round of incremental improvement in specs of the next high end Android flagship. The stuff we already have is quite enough. Meanwhile, in the race to check another box on the big spec list, most of Android vendors have been ignoring things that really matter and are missing in my most important gadget of the day.
Battery life, durability, ability to it use without fear relaxing in a hot tub. All of which this version of Motorola X seems to address.
Now, if Motorola can also do something about the camera, and give me the ability to take at least point-and-shooter quality pics in varying lighting conditions, Motorola X would be THE smartphone I have been waiting for, for years.
Unfortunately, it seems that it’ll be a while, before I can get my hands on this version of Moto X Phone. Google won’t be showing it at its I/O conference in May. We’ll have to wait until November for the device to launch.
