BlackBerry Q10 headed to O2 UK
Q10 – BlackBerry’s second new smartphone for 2013 – hasn’t been released anywhere in the world yet. But it’s going to hit the shelves starting next month.
We already told you that the Q10 should be launched in the UK, SIM-free, starting April 26. Now we have news on where you will be able to get the new BlackBerry handset on contract. O2 has confirmed it would sell the device starting May. The network doesn’t mention anything about pricing. But we should remind you that a SIM-free Q10 will cost around £530.
Unlike the full-touch BlackBerry Z10 (available in the UK since January), the Q10 keeps the familiar BlackBerry design, featuring a physical QWERTY keyboard, and a 3.1 inch touchscreen display with 720 x 720 pixels, LTE (market dependable), HSPA, dual band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, 2MP front-facing camera, 8MP rear camera, dual-core 1.5GHz TI OMAP processor, PowerVR SGX544 GPU, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal memory, and a 2,100 mAh battery.
Other two new devices that are coming to O2 UK soon are the Nokia Lumia 720 (with Windows Phone 8), and the Sony Xperia Tablet Z (which runs Android Jelly Bean).
BlackBerry has already shipped 1 million Z10 smartphones (since January). It remains to be seen when the Q10 will match that number.
