LG sells 500,000 Optimus G Pro smartphones in 40 days
LG today is boasting that it’s managed to sell over 500,000 units of the Optimus G Pro in its homeland – South Korea. And all this in the first 40 days of the device’s availability.
LG has announced the Optimus G Pro in February, and it went on sale in Korea that same month. The G Pro is the company’s highest-end handset yet, but it isn’t the smallest one around, coming with a 5.5-inch touchscreen.
The Optimus G Pro won’t be sold in Korea alone. It should also make it to Japan sometime before the end of June, and even the US at a later date. So it may even arrive in other parts of the world, but we still don’t have any hard evidence for that. Either way, LG certainly has created an interesting offering with the Optimus G Pro, one that will probably continue to sell very well – at least until the Samsung Galaxy S4 makes it to South Korea.
The Optimus G Pro is the fastest selling smartphone ever for LG in its home country. And LG seems confident that it will do even better in other markets. So let’s hope it’s going to arrive outside of Korea soon.
