Sony Xperia S could get its Android Jelly Bean update in the next few days
Last week, when Sony started rolling-out an official Android Jelly Bean update to the Xperia TX, it reconfirmed that other older Xperia handsets would get JB pretty soon, too.
Now, according to a Facebook comment from Sony Poland, it looks like the Xperia S will be the next to get the update. Reportedly, the smartphone should receive Jelly Bean starting the next few days. Of course, it’s going to be Android 4.1, not 4.2 (but the later version might also arrive at some point). Hopefully for Xperia S owners, the update will indeed arrive as promised.
The Xperia S was launched by Sony in early 2012 as it then-flagship smartphone. It’s still a nice device in 2013, featuring: a 4.3 inch HD (1280 x 720) display with Mobile Bravia engine, 12MP rear camera with LED flash and 1080p video recording, 1.3MP front-facing camera, 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcomm processor, Adreno 220 GPU, 1GB of RAM, 32GB of internal memory, and a 1,750 mAh battery.
As previously reported, Sony is currently also readying Jelly Bean updates for the following smartphones: Xperia Acro S, Xperia SL, Xperia Ion, Xperia P, and Xperia Go.
Meanwhile – but you probably already know this – Sony has introduced several smartphones that run Android Jelly Bean out of the box, including the Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia SP, and Xperia L.
