AT&T LG Optimus G Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update now rolling out
The update to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean for the LG Optimus G sold by AT&T has started rolling out today. So if you own one of these devices, you’ll be happy to know that a big update is on its way to you. This follows a similar update being deployed in LG’s native South Korea, and we even heard some reports that Sprint’s version of the Optimus G is also getting updated.
But back to the AT&T handset. The update is coming over-the-air, so your phone may notify you when it’s ready to download and install. If it doesn’t, or if you’re simply impatient, you can manually force it to check by going to Settings > General > About phone > Software update and tapping on Update now. You simply follow the prompts from there.
The update brings with it expandable notifications, a new Tasks app that syncs to Outlook, a data usage calculator, a preinstalled NCAA March Madness Live app, and support for the Isis mobile wallet – which is only live in Austin and Salt Lake City at the moment, so probably won’t affect you.
