New affordable BlackBerry 10 smartphone coming in the second half of the year?
BlackBerry has unveiled only two BB 10 smartphones until now, and both are high-end devices: one sporting a large touchscreen (Z10), and one featuring a full QWERTY keyboard paired with a smaller touchscreen (Q10).
The company’s third handset this year might be an entry-level one.
According to Indonesian website Ihaini, the upcoming BlackBerry is part of an unannounced R-series, and can be considered a smaller Q10. Reportedly, alongside a full QWERTY keyboard, it will have 8GB of internal memory, MicroSD card support, and a 1,800 mAh battery. The handset should be released in the third or fourth quarter of the year, possibly costing between $300 and $400.

BlackBerry probably hopes to sell lots of these affordable smartphones in emerging markets around the world. It will be hard with all the cheap Android (and even Windows Phone) devices that are already out there. But not impossible.
