SIM-free Nokia Lumia 720 to hit the UK on April 8. Lumia 520 should arrive on April 22

Nokia’s newest Windows Phone 8 handsets, the Lumia 720 and Lumia 520, were supposed to be released (SIM free) in the UK on April 1. Unfortunately for British WP fans, that did not happen.

But fret not, both devices should become available in the UK before the end of the month.

The Lumia 720 is expected to be in stock starting April 8 at Amazon and Clove. It costs £299.99 (€355) at Clove, while Amazon certainly has something mixed up, as it’s asking no less than £382.97 (€453) for the handset. Of course, you’ll be able to find the 720 in other places, too – for example, O2 and Three will offer the handset for free on select plans.

As for the Lumia 520, this is listed as coming on April 22. Clove has priced the 520 at £169.99 (€201). Amazon is overcharging again: £198.79 (€235).

The Lumia 720 is obviously the best of the two new Nokia smartphones. Its features include a 4.3 inch display with 800 x 480 pixels and Gorilla Glass 2, HSPA, 6.7MP rear camera with Carl Zeiss optics and LED flash, 1.3MP front-facing camera, 512MB of RAM, dual-core 1GHz Qualcomm processor, and 8GB of internal memory (expandable thanks to a MicroSD card slot). The Lumia 520 comes with a 4 inch WVGA display, 5MP rear camera, 1GHz dual-core processor, 512MB of RAM, 8GB of internal memory, and MicroSD card support.
