Waiting for the Samsung Galaxy S4, Sprint readies the launch of Galaxy S III in purple
The purple version of Samsung’s Galaxy S III that we told you about last month is indeed headed to Sprint, and should be available starting April 12 (just as initially rumored).
Engadget has received a screenshot that confirms the upcoming launch of the purple S III. Like the pebble blue and marble white versions of the handset – released by Sprint last year – the purple one will cost $99.99 on contract (16GB edition). The no contract price will be of $549.99. A 32GB edition of the new color has not been confirmed yet.
As far as we know, Sprint will be the only carrier in the world to have a purple Galaxy S III (which, by the way, now has a total of seven color versions). The new color is being introduced at a time when many customers are waiting for the Galaxy S4 – this is probably going to be available at Sprint in May the latest (but it could happen this month, too).
Like AT&T, Sprint will likely ask $199.99 (on contract) for the Galaxy S4 16GB, and $249.99 for the 32GB edition. For the beginning, the S4 should be sold only in black and white. We’ll let you know when official details about this are available.
