US Cellular Samsung Galaxy Axiom Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update now out

The Samsung Galaxy Axiom is basically US Cellular’s version of the internationally-sold Galaxy S III Mini. With one pretty important caveat, up until today. While the Galaxy S III Mini was launched running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean from day one, the Axiom has so far been stuck on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Not the oldest version around (that would sadly be Gingerbread), but not far from it either.

So here’s some good news if you own a Galaxy Axiom. An update to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean is now ready for you to download and install. That is, if you go to Settings > About Device > Software Update, select OK and then follow the prompts that appear on your screen.

Of course, you can also wait for the over-the-air rollout to reach your particular device. In that case, your phone will notify you when the update arrives and you go from there.
