More details on Samsung’s Galaxy Mega 6.3 and Mega 5.8 show up
Initially rumored to be called Galaxy Fonblet, the Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 and Mega 5.8 are getting closer and closer to an official announcement.
Sam Mobile says it received a list of features for the Galaxy Mega 5.8 (model number GT-i9152). This is a dual SIM smartphone that will run Android 4.1 (or 4.2) Jelly Bean. It’s going to offer a 5.8 inch display with 960 x 540 pixels, 2MP front-facing camera, 8MP rear camera, 1.5GB of RAM, dual-core 1.4GHz processor, and a 2,600 mAh battery – all in a case that measures 164 x 83.8 x 9.7 mm (that’s slightly larger than the Galaxy Note II).
As for the Galaxy Mega 6.3 (mode number GT-i9200), Korean website Daum reports that the 6.3 inch device will have a dual-core Exynos processor, 8MP rear camera, and a 2MP front-facing camera. Its screen resolution is not known, but it’s probably not higher than qHD. The Mega 6.3 is going to come in two color versions: black and white (at least for the beginning).
Both the Galaxy Mega 5.8 and Mega 6.3 could be released starting June. Unfortunately, there are no images to show the new Mega phablets. But we’ll just assume they don’t look too different from the Galaxy Grand (pictured above). Hopefully, Samsung will shed some official light on the two new giant handsets soon.
