Sony Xperia SP official pricing unveiled (for Russia, India)
Expected to be launched in various countries around the world starting this month, the Sony Xperia SP has been officially priced in India and Russia.
In India, the new Xperia will be available starting mid-April, costing 27,490 INR ($505 or €387). This obviously makes the SP more affordable than the Xperia Z and Xperia ZL, currently offered to Indian customers for 37,990 INR and 35,990 INR, respectively. Those who buy the Xperia SP will receive a free premium case (worth 1,990 INR).
The price of Sony Xperia SP will be higher in Russia: 17,990 RUB (around $583 or €446). According to Sony Russia’s Facebook page, the smartphone will be available there in late August, being offered with a free Sony MH1c LiveSound headset.
Late April is also when the handset should hit the shelves in the UK.
The Xperia SP has three color versions – black, white and red – but it looks like only the first two will be available for the beginning.
Like the Xperia L, announced at the same time with it, the Sony Xperia SP runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. It comes with a 4.6 inch HD display, dual-core 1.7GHz Snapdragon processor, LTE connectivity, 8MP rear camera with LED flash and 1080p video recording, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal memory expandable via MicroSD, and a 2,370 mAh battery.
