Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8 won’t be sold in the UK
Earlier today, Samsung finally took the wraps off of its newly invented Galaxy Mega line, comprised for now of two huge phones – the Galaxy Mega 6.3 and the Galaxy Mega 5.8. They don’t come with top of the line features, nor with extremely high-resolution screens, and based on specs are more midrange offerings than anything else. But with these two, you know it’s all going to be about screen size. For those who still think ‘more is better’ even after holding a 5.5-inch Galaxy Note II, the Mega devices are a great fit.
However, if you’re in the UK you’ll only get one of them. For some reason, Samsung has decided not to sell the Galaxy Mega 5.8 (pictured below) over there. The Galaxy Mega 6.3 will be made available in mid-May in the UK, yet its smaller sibling won’t be officially offered on those shores.
Before you become very disappointed, keep in mind that this only covers official imports from Samsung into the UK. Plenty of third party retailers will surely offer the ‘EU’ version of the Galaxy Mega 5.8, with a power socket adaptor, if they will see demand for this handset. So while Samsung’s decision is a bit odd, it’s not the end of the world if you already crave the Mega 5.8 and you happen to live in the UK.
