Pantech’s 5 inch Full HD IM-A870 Android smartphone called Vega Iron
The Pantech IM-A870 that we told you about yesterday will be launched under the name of Vega Iron. This is Pantech’s newest Android flagship smartphone, and will compete with other two handsets made by its South Korean rivals: Samsung Galaxy S4, and LG Optimus G Pro.
As previously mentioned, the Vega Iron IM-A870 should be a “bezel-less” devices.
According to Ruliweb / Daum, the smartphone runs Android 4.1.2, and features: a 5 inch display with 1920 x 1080 pixels, LTE connectivity, NFC, quad-core 1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor, 2GB of RAM, 13MP rear camera, and a 2,150 mAh battery. It weighs 154 grams, and measures 136.3 × 67.7 × 8.8 mm – this making it a tad smaller than Samsung’s Galaxy S4 (136.6 x 69.8 x 7.9 mm).
The Vega Iron will be officially presented in South Korea next week, on April 18. Until then, all we have is the teaser image seen below. It’s not quite clear from this if the handset has a square-ish design, or a more rounded one.
Pantech already introduced a Full HD Android device – the Vega No 6, but this is larger than the Vega Iron, sporting a 5.9 inch display. Since the Vega No 6 is available not just in South Korea, maybe Pantech will want to launch the new Vega Iron outside its home country, too. We’ll let you know if it happens.
