The HTC First Facebook phone is now available at AT&T for $99.99
The social network clearly hopes that this is only the ‘First’ Facebook phone of many to come, but that all depends on how phone makers actually react to Facebook Home, the replacement launcher / lock screen app for Android that powers Facebook’s renewed push on mobile.
Obviously though, if the First is successful, some other companies will join in (or HTC might do a Second). With that in mind, if you want to get the HTC First, you can do so now for $99.99 with a new two-year contract of course.
You can choose between black, white, red, and ‘pale blue’. You also get free shipping, by the way.
The HTC First isn’t the Taiwanese company’s first foray into ‘Facebook phone’ space. But the Salsa and ChaCha from yesteryear were not officially sanctioned by the social network. This, however, is. So that may help its sales prospects somewhat. Facebook and HTC were clearly aiming for the mass-market here, which explains the price (as well as the midrange specs).
