Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 and Tab 3 8.0 could be announced this week
Samsung’s next-generation Galaxy Tabs might be officially unveiled sooner than expected.
According tot Greek website Techblog, the Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 and Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 could be announced in the next few days. Reportedly, the 3G versions of both tablets are expected to go on sale starting May. The LTE editions should be out in June or July.
It looks like the only differences between the new Tabs are in the size, weight, and battery departments. The Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 measures 256.7 x 175.3 x 8.7 mm, weighs 533 grams, and has a 7,000 mAh battery. The Tab 3 8.0 comes with a 4,500 mAh battery, weighing 330 grams, and measuring 209.6 x 112.1 x 6.95 mm (that’s thin!). The rest of their features are common, including: Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean, 1280 x 800 pixel screen, 1.5GHz dual-core CPU, 3MP rear camera, 1.3MP front-facing camera, and MicroSD card support.
Techblog has an image that supposedly shows one of the new Tab 3 models, but it’s not clear if it’s the 10.1 inch, or the 8 inch one. In any case, it’s white, resembling the recently launched Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0.
As for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Plus (which should sport a 10 inch display with 2560 x 1600 pixels), it looks like this won’t be announced too soon – we’ve heard it will happen in September at IFA 2013, when the 5.9 inch Galaxy Note III is also expected to make its official debut.
