Sony Xperia SP launching in the UK on April 30?
It’s not secret that the Sony Xperia SP is almost ready to be released in the UK. However, now we have an exact launch date: April 30. British retailer Clove says the black version of the SP should be in stock that day, with the white edition scheduled to arrive on May 6.
Unlocked, the Xperia SP costs £322.80 (about €375).
If you don’t want to get the handset SIM free, Phones 4U is taking preorders for it on contracts from EE, Vodafone, Orange and T-Mobile. Moreover, the device will be also offered by O2 and Three.
While it isn’t as high-end as the Xperia Z (apparently sold in more than 4 million units around the world), the Xperia SP is still a nice smartphone, featuring Android Jelly Bean, a 4.6 inch display with 1280 x 720 pixels, LTE connectivity, NFC, dual-core 1.7GHz processor, 1GB of RAM, 8MP rear camera, VGA front-facing camera, and a 2,370 mAh battery.
The smaller Xperia L is also expected to debut in the UK this month – although Clove now says it’s going to have it in stock starting early May. The Xperia L costs less than the SP (£234), and features: Android Jelly Bean, a 4.3 inch display with 854 x 480 pixels, NFC, 8MP rear camera, VGA front-facing camera, dual-core 1GHz processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal memory, and a 1,750 mAh battery.
