LG Optimus G Pro will arrive in the US on May 1, AT&T version not yet confirmed
LG’s latest and greatest smartphone, the Optimus G Pro, is indeed going to be launched in the US next month – as previously rumored.
The South Korean company will host an event on May 1 in New York City, where it invites the media to “share the genius of Optimus G Pro”.
Specific launch details haven’t been unveiled yet, but we’ll find out more come May. We’ve heard that AT&T would carry the Optimus G Pro starting May 10 – the 5.5 inch version released in South Korea, not the 5.0 inch one available in Japan. Sure enough, we still have to wait for an official confirmation on this, as the invitation to the May 1 event doesn’t mention AT&T at all.
Running Android 4.1 Jelly bean, the LG Optimus G Pro features an IPS Plus Full HD (1920 x 1080) display, quad-core 1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor, 2.1MP front-facing camera, 13MP rear camera with LED flash, LTE connectivity, NFC, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal memory (expandable via MicroSD card), and a 3,140 Li-Po battery.
Of course, by the time the Optimus G Pro hits the shelves in the US, Samsung’s Galaxy S4 will already win the hearts of many customers – not only on AT&T, but also on all the other relevant carriers.
